With parts of the region buried under three feet or more of snow, emergency officials say there is only so much plows and snow blowers can do. Authorities say it could be days before all the streets are clear and power is restored. [2] Multiple people are dead after a powerful explosion at a Connecticut power plant. The blast happened Sunday morning at the clean energy facility in middle town. Authorities say there were about 50 people in the area of the plant where the explosion took place. [3] Several Japanese news outlets are speculating that Toyota will issue a domestic recall for its Prius hybrid vehicle over braking problems. The world's largest automaker won't comment on the rumors. Company executives will only say they will announce the plan soon.
