1. President Barack Obama is promising Haiti the US will stand with that country in the long road to recovery from January's earthquake. Obama stood alongside Haiti's visiting president in the Rose Garden. He says the challenge now is to prevent a second disaster there as the rainy season starts.

2. A boyfriend of the American woman charged in a foreign terrorism plot says she never showed any Muslim or other religious leanings. Federal officials charged that Colleen LaRose met up with violent jihadists online under the name “Jihad Jane”. An indictment says she used the Internet to conspire with them to kill a Swedish artist.

3. Los Angeles County police say there is no evidence of foul play in the death of actor Corey Haim. The 38-year-old actor struggled with drug abuse. Police say he had been experiencing flu-like symptoms before he died.

4. A Georgian television station has shown what it says to be the world's oldest person if authentic. The station says she was born back in 1880, making her 130 years old.
