Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met the press on Tuesday. He talked about China's foreign policy on international and regional issues. He said China has made active efforts and broken new ground in its diplomacy. We spoke to Kenneth Lieberthal, a senior fellow in Foreign Policy and Global Economy and Development at the Brookings Insititution, for his view on China's diplomacy.
"I think fundamentally, China's broad principles have not changed dramatically. Having said that, China's capabilities, both regional and global footprints, have changed a great deal. And I think China, therefore, is seeking more active role. Now I think China is deeply engaged in a very wide array of issues," Lieberthal said.
