On 12 October 1988 two young policemen were ambushed¹ in a suburban² street in South Yarra in Melbourne. They'd stopped to investigate what looked like an abandoned stolen car parked in the middle of the road and when they did they were both shot dead. The Walsh Street killings³ have been the subject of news items, articles, features, books, a play, docos, scholarly studies, the movie Animal Kingdom and campaigns for justice -- and now a new book called A Pack of Bloody⁴ Animals: the Walsh Street murders revisited.
