Hello, Melissa Hamilton with the National Weather.
Let's check the satellite image first. You can see cloud over Queensland and northern New South Wales that’s causing a few showers and storms. Cool southwesterly winds are pushing more cloud across the southeast triggering1 scattered2 showers there. And thick cloud in the tropics3 is causing heavy rain in the Top End.
Around the states now, Queensland can expect rain and thunderstorms in the far northern tropics and east coast. It should be mostly fine elsewhere though.
Much the same in New South Wales, there will be scattered showers in the northeast and above the south coast.
A little rain too for Victoria, it will fall mainly on and south of the ranges with a chance of snow on the Alps.
Tasmania can expect some morning drizzle4 on the east coast with scattered showers in the central west.
There'll also be some rain above South Australia's south coast, but it should be mostly fine and mild elsewhere.
A fairly fine day for southern Western Australia but further north. There will be showers and thunderstorms in the western Kimberley and Pilbara, and in the Top End.
Looking ahead to Monday's forecast now, an overcast5 humid day for Brisbane, showers for Sydney, Melbourne and Hobart, clear in Canberra, Adelaide and Perth, still very warm near a top of 41 degrees. There will be a light storm in Darwin with a top of 33 degrees there.
