In Britain, a former minister giving evidence at the Iraq war inquiry4 says cabinet was misled into believing the war was legal. Former International Development Secretary Clare Short has accused Tony Blair of lying about the invasion of the Iraq. She says she was conned5 into thinking the UN would play a lead role in post-war Iraq. Ms Short voted in favor of the 2003 invasion, but quit the government shortly afterwards.
And Continental6 Airlines and five individuals have gone on trial for manslaughter in France over the Air France Concorde crash in July 2000. A hundred and thirteen people were killed when the jet plunged7 into a hotel minutes after takeoff.
