Hello, Kathryn Stolarchuk with the National Weather.
To the satellite image first, we can see a cloud stream over Queensland carried by humid easterlies is generating showers and storms in the northern tropics. More cloud across the south along a trough is triggering the odd storm, and it should be mostly clear elsewhere.
Around the states now, it’s a very wet day for Queensland with rain over most parts of the state. There will be thunderstorms above the north with a few scattered1 showers over the southeast in the morning.
New South Wales will see a few isolated2 showers in the northeast and the odd thunderstorm in the west. It should be fine elsewhere.
More wet weather for Victoria, the hot temperature should ease after a southwesterly change in the afternoon.
Mostly fine in Tasmania, apart from a few isolated showers above the west and far south.
To South Australia, thunderstorms will develop in the east during the afternoon, expected a few scattered showers above the western agricultural district.
WA will see a bit of rain, mostly concentrated above the Eucla and south coasts.
And further north, there will be some evening showers above the Kimberleys, the Top End can expect more thunderstorms above the north coast.
Taking a look at the major centers for tomorrow now, there will be thunderstorms in Darwin, rain in Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane and Hobart. And it’s looking like a sunny day in Perth, heading for a top of 33 degrees.
