And thick cloud over the central eastern region near an offshore¹ trough is generating showers, the heaviest over southeast Queensland. A cloud band reaching southwest WA in a front is bringing more rain around the states.

There're severe weather warnings in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast with heavy showers developing in the coastal² region, and isolated³ rain and thunderstorms over most of the state.

The rain will continue in New South Wales' northeast with isolated showers along the coast and eastern ranges. It will be mostly sunny over the western half of the state and partly cloudy elsewhere.

It'll be a fine day in Victoria apart from some morning fog patches in Gippsland, but it will be mostly sunny for the remainder of the state.
