A former nurse goes on trial today, accused of murdering 11 patients after afire at a Sydney nursing home. Roger Dean stands accused of deliberately5 starting the blaze thatdestroyed the Quakers Hill nursing home in November, 2011. Some residents died during the fire, while others died later from their injuries. The trial is expected to last four weeks.
And trainer Gal6 Waterhouse will be back before the more joyous7 inquiry today.She's been charged with not telling stewards8 about the mare's condition and failing to keep records of its treatment. Mr Waterhouse has pleaded not guilty.
