 　　Dany rode along quietly for a time, working his words like a puzzle box.  丹妮静静地骑了一会儿，细细咀嚼他所说的话。

　　It went against everything that Viserys had ever told her to think that the people could care so little whether a true king or a usurper¹ reigned² over them. 老百姓居然不在乎统治他们的究竟是真龙天子还是篡夺叛逆，这和韦赛里斯说的一切都大相径庭啊。

　　Yet the more she thought on Jorah's words, the more they rang of truth. 然而她越想越觉得乔拉爵士所言不虚。

　　Home, he said. His voice was thick with longing³. 我只想回家。他的声音里带着浓浓的乡愁。

　　I pray for home too, she told him, believing it. 我也是。她完全能体会这种感觉。

　　Ser Jorah laughed. Look around you then, Khaleesi. 乔拉爵士笑了，那你正该好好欣赏，卡丽熙。

　　But it was not the plains Dany saw then. It was King's Landing and the great Red Keep that Aegon the Conqueror⁴ had built.  丹妮放眼望去，眼中却非草原，而是君临，是征服者伊耿建筑的雄伟红堡。

　　It was Dragonstone where she had been born. In her mind's eye they burned with a thousand lights, a fire blazing in every window.  是她降生的龙石岛。在她脑海里，它们伴随着万千道熊熊火光，每扇窗户都在燃烧。

　　My brother will never take back the Seven Kingdoms, Dany said. She had known that for a long time, she realized. She had known it all her life.  哥哥永远无法夺回七国。丹妮说。她发觉自己以前就知道，一辈子都知道。

　　Only she had never let herself say the words, even in a whisper, but now she said them for Jorah Mormont and all the world to hear. 只是始终不让自己说出来，连窃窃私语也不肯。现在她要大声说出口，让乔拉·莫尔蒙，让全世界都听得见。

　　Ser Jorah gave her a measuring look. You think not. 乔拉爵士忖度着她。你认为他没办法。

　　He could not lead an army even if my lord husband gave him one, Dany said. He has no coin and the only knight⁵ who follows him reviles⁶ him as less than a snake.  就算我夫君给他军队，他也没有统御的能力。丹妮道，他没有财产，惟一誓言追随他的骑士把他骂得连蛇都不如。

　　The Dothraki make mock of his weakness. He will never take us home. 多斯拉克人嘲笑他的脆弱。他永远没办法带我们回家。
