China opposes U.S. sanctions against three Chinese companies

Chinese authorities have expressed firm opposition¹ to U.S. sanctions against three Chinese companies.

The Chinese Commerce Ministry² says the country will take countermeasures to resolutely³ safeguard the legitimate⁴ rights and interests of Chinese companies.

Officials say U.S. crackdown on Chinese enterprises damages the interests of businesses from both countries and such practice disrupts the global supply chains.

Embassy ensures supplies to Chinese nationals in Tonga

A diplomat⁵ at the Chinese Embassy in Tonga has said China will ensure disaster relief supplies to Chinese nationals and overseas Chinese communities in the island nation.

Political Counselor⁶ Ruan Dewen also said China has spared no efforts to contact Chinese nationals in Tonga after volcanic⁷ eruptions⁹ and offer them assistance.

Environmental emergency declared in Peru after oil spill

Peru has declared an environmental emergency and demanded compensation from oil company Repsol.

Belarusian health officials said that Chinese vaccines are reliable and authorities will distribute the vaccines to various medical institutions as soon as possible.
