 　　For them no more the blazing hearth¹ shall burn, 对他们而言，熊炽的炉火不再会燃烧，

　　Or busy housewife ply² her evening care; 忙碌的主妇不再会夜里还忙碌，

　　No children run to lisp their sire's return, 没有孩子再对父亲回转呀呀呓语，

　　The boast of heraldry, the pomp of power, 门第的炫耀，权势的煊赫，

　　And all that beauty, all that wealth e'er gave, 所有美，所有财富能给予的好处，

　　Await alike, the inevitable⁹ hour: 都同样等待着不可避免的时刻到来
