Anchor: Good evening! I'm Julia Cosby and welcome to 6: 30 News. Tonight we have an exclusive on the Barclay Bank robbery in our usually quiet town. Our ace11 reporter John was on the scene.
John: (puzzled) Er... I was?
Anchor: He bravely caught the robbers on tape as they were making their getaway. With the incriminating footage, the police should have no problem catching¹ the bad guys. This is Julia Cosby from 6: 30 News wishing you a good evening.
Mrs. Smith: Congratulations, my boy!  I'm so proud of you. But tell me, John, how did you get so thrilling a story?
John: Being a good reporter is all about being in the right place at the right time. Well, to tell you the truth, I forgot to turn off my camera when I put it on the bench in front of the bank.
Exercise: Turn the three mini-dialogues into ONE descriptive narrative². Use only indirect speech.
