Hi, I'm Donna Barnes. I'm a life and relationship coach and the owner of NY Dating Coach in New York City.
In this clip we'll talk about tips on writing an apology letter. And first and foremost, you should just come from your heart. I would say, take responsibility for whatever it was that you did and really own what happened. Don't blame the other person in any way at all, talk in "I" statements and really come from the heart. Don't give excuses for why you did what you did, excuses aren't important. What matters is that you're sorry that you did it and that you're not gonna do it again.
So, really, just be genuine, come from the heart, do not blame the other person in any way whatsoever1. And really most importantly, let them know that you're not gonna do it again cause that's what they really want to hear.
So, and write it on nice paper and send it in the mail. I think e-mail is so instant nowadays that everybody does everything so instantly, instant messaging and all those kind of stuff. It's really nice to get a good old-fashioned love letter. So, take the time and put it in a card and really come from the heart.
This is Donna Barnes in New York City.
