　　Love and Time

　　Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge and all of the others, including Love. One day, it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left, except for Love.

　　Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

　　When the island had almost sunk, Love decided¹ to ask for help.

　　Richness was passing by Love in a grand² boat. Lovesaid, "Richness, can you take me with you?" Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."

　　Love decided to ask Vanity³ who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel⁴. "Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

　　Sadness was closed by, so Love asked, "Sadness, Let me go with you." "Oh... Love, I am so sad that I need to be myself!"

　　Happiness passed by Love, too. But she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.

　　Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I will take you." It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own away.

　　Realizing how much was owed⁵ the elder, Love asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who helped me?"

　　"It was Time," Knowledge answered.

　　"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"

　　Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom⁶ and answered, "Because only Time is capable⁷ of understanding how valuable Love is."

　　爱情与时间

　　很久以前，一个小岛上住着快乐、悲伤等各种情感，还有智慧以及其它，当然还有爱情。某天，这座小岛突然被宣布即将沉没，所有的情感都造好了自己的船离开，除了爱情。

　　爱情是唯一一个留下来的人，他希望能够坚持到最后一刻！

　　当小岛即将没顶之际，爱情决定寻求帮助。

　　财富开着一条大船经过。爱情问，“财富，你可以带上我吗？”财富答道：“不，不行。我的船上装满了金银财宝，装不下你了。”

　　爱情决定问开着漂亮的船从旁边经过的虚荣。“虚荣，请你救救我吧！”“我不能帮你，爱情，你浑身湿透了，你会弄脏我的船的！”

　　悲伤也在附近，于是爱情问：“悲伤，带我一起走吧。” “噢，爱情，我是那么的痛苦，痛苦的只想一个人呆着。”

　　快乐也经过了爱情，可是她快乐过头了，没听见爱情在呼唤她。

　　突然，一个声音响起，“来吧，爱情，我来帮你。”那是一个智者。爱情非常高兴，高兴的甚至忘了问他们要去哪儿。当他们抵达陆地时，老人独自离开了。

　　爱情意识到自己欠了老人很多，于是问身边的另一个智者智慧，“帮我的那个人是谁？”

　　智慧老人答道，“是时间。”

　　“时间？可是他为什么要帮助我？”爱情不解。

　　智慧微笑着，充满睿智地答道：“因为爱情的价值只有时间才能理解！”
