A real friend is someone that’s gonna be there for you when times are hard.

真正的朋友在你身处艰难时会出现的在你身边

It means you can have the biggest jerk living next to you but then when you lose your apartment and he takes you in, you find out he’s the only true friend you had.

比如，最开始你认为你的邻居是一个混蛋，但是当你无家可归的时候，他收留你，你才发现他是你一个真正的朋友。

In China, we have a figure of speech : “ The friend-ship, wrecks² easily.” （友谊的小船，说翻就翻）We think of a friendshipas a real ship and sometimes, it’s easily wrecked³ by some ridiculous reason.

If there’s one thing that’ll mess up a friendship, it’s a love interest. If that’s the case, there isn’t much to be done. Really, you just have to hope your friend has enough forgiveness in them. Otherwise, there isn’t really much one person can do.

如果说有一件事会搞砸友谊，就是感情。在这种情况下，不能做什么。真的，除了朋友之间有足够的宽恕。但没有很多人能做到。

Forgiveness doesn’t come from an outward source. Forgiveness comes from within. If you’ve done something to hurt a friend, you can’t do anything to fix it.

I like a friend that can take a joke!!! If I call my friend an asshole, they can’t get all upset about it. I like to insult my friends and i like being insulted back.

One day, you’re friend is gonna be on hard times and so will you. You’re gonna have 2 dollars in your pocket. If you give up one of those dollars, if you give up half of what you have, you’ll know what being a friend is all about.

如果一天，你的朋友在困难的时候你也会出现在他身边。如果你的口袋里有 2 美元，你给一美元给你朋友。如果你愿意放弃你所拥有的一半，你就会知道什么是朋友了。
