I'm green. = I am new to sth.= sth is all new to me.

1.Saying "I'm green" signifies that you are unfamiliar¹ or new at the subject or matter at hand.

对某事不是很熟悉，在某方面是个新手。

2.Think of a marigold (flower). When the stem first comes out of the soil, the only color visible is green. Once it has done more growing, the actual petal² color becomes visible and eventually blooms into a beautiful, colorful flower.
