职称英语考试语法复习指导:让步状语从句

 　　让步状语从句：

　　主要连接词：although¹ （虽然）/ even² if （though） （即使）/ while³ （尽管）后两个是考试的重点。no matter what… （= whatever无论…什么…） / no matter how… （=however⁴， 无论怎样…） / whether⁵…or not （不论…还是…）这是让步句考试的重点。

　　例如：

　　No matter what （或Whatever） may happen， we will not change our plan⁶. （无论可能发生什么，我们决不改变计划。）

　　No matter how difficult （或However difficult） the journey⁷ may be， we will not change our plan. （不管路程有多难，我们决不改变计划。）

　　We should not worry her whether she is well or ill （或whether she is ill or not）。（无论她身体好坏，我们都不应使她烦恼。）

　　注意：no matter what后面跟名词或名词性结构;no matter how后面跟形容词或副词，不要搞错;用了no matter what / no matter how就不能再用whatever / however.

　　5） 比较状语从句：

　　这是英语语法必考内容，要特别加以重视。

　　基本概念：两个比较级，三个或三个以上最高级。要对数字“2”特别敏感，试选择：

　　Of Mary and Jane， who is ______？

　　A. smart B.the smartest

　　C. more smarter D.the smarter

　　解题思路：很显然这是一道考形容词比较级的题目，从句子结构和选题A可以判断smart是个形容词原级，因此可以断定C的形式错了（重复比较，如不能说 more happier 一样的道理）。B是最高级，但句中只有两个人Mary 和Jane，因此正确答案只能是D，这是一个较特殊的比较级句型，即the + 形容词比较级 + of （两个）。

　　比较级的主要句型：

　　（1） 原级比较：as⁸ +形容词或副词原级+ as， 否定式：not so （或as） +形容词或副词原级+ as

　　注意问题：as…as 之间的形容词或副词是否采用了原级;as…as 之间该用形容词还是副词;用as much as 还是用as many as

　　表示倍数时用下面结构， 如3倍：three times as …as…

　　例如：

　　The size⁹ of the island is about ______ that of this one.

　　A.three times as much as B.as three times much as

　　C.as three times greater than D.three times as big as

　　解题思路：B、C违反了上述句型规定，A、D的区别是size（大小 / 尺寸）是与much搭配还是与big搭配，D是对的。

参考例句：

• Although my car is very old,It'still runs very well.我的汽车虽然很旧，但仍然跑得很快。
• Although he worked hard,he failed in the exam.虽然他很努力，但他考试没有及格。

2 even   

adj.平坦的，偶数的，相等的；adv.甚至，恰好，正当

参考例句：

• It was cold yesterday,but it's even colder today. 昨天冷，今天更冷了。
• He's the best teacher even though he has the least experience.尽管他经验最少，但教得最好。

3 while   

conj.当…的时候；而；虽然；尽管 n.一会儿

参考例句：

• In a short while,the cat ate up the fish.不久，那只猫便将鱼吃个精光。
• He teaches English in the school all the while.他一直在这所学校里教英语。

4 however   

adv.然而；conj.然而，可是，不过

参考例句：

• It's raining hard.However,I still want to go there.虽然下着大雨，我还是想去那儿。
• However, this does not always happen.然而，这种情况并不总是发生。

5 whether   

conj.是否…，是不是…；是否…，是不是…

参考例句：

• I cannot say whether it was Saturday or Sunday.我无法肯定那天是星期六还是星期天。
• I don't care whether it rains,I am happy.我才不在乎下不下雨呢，我快活着呢。

6 plan   

n.计划，策略，方法；v.计划，设计，意欲

参考例句：

• What do you plan to do during the holidays?你打算在假期里做什么？
• I talked with him about our plan,and he wanted in.我同他谈了我们的计划，他想参加。

7 journey   

n.旅行，旅程；路程

参考例句：

• She will give up this journey.她将放弃这次旅行。
• The journey home was great fun.回家的旅程非常有趣。

8 as   

conj.按照；如同

参考例句：

• He got work in a hotel as a waiter.他在一家旅馆找到了当服务生的工作。
• In the hotel,the old men were drinking away as usual.在旅馆里，这些老人和往常一样喝个不停。

9 size   

n.尺寸，大小；v.按大小排列或分类

参考例句：

• I think I can find the right size for you.我想我能给你找到合适的尺码。
• This room is twice the size of that one.这间屋子有那间两个大。
