Shoo-in 是指在选举竞赛时,"轻易可以获胜,为有力的候补"之意.

I'm at best a dark horse. 是(我最多是一匹黑马而已).

有人连候补都当不成).

87. It's their treat. Might as well get something expensive, since

I'm not taking this job anyway.

这是他们(公司)请客,反正我不想在这里工作,不妨叫贵一些的吧!

此处的 treat 当名词用, 表示"请客"之意. He treated me to a

steak. 的treat做动词用, 表示(他请我吃牛排). might as well...

是"不妨.....". take a job 是"就业".而 anyway 是"不管怎样"的意思.

throw...in my face 是"向我丢.....". renegue /ri'ni:g/ 是"食言,背弃(诺言等)"
