 An uNPRecedented¹ insight into the private life of Audrey Hepburn has been revealed thanks to the sale of intimate letters written by the screen siren.

The never-seen-before correspondence from the actress to her mentor² Sir Felix Aylmer during her rise to international fame have come to light.

The ten letters were sent by Hepburn to the British actor, her mentor and confidant, between 1951 and 1960.

Experts say the notes, which are being sold by Sir Felix's family for the first time, offer a unique window into the life of the notoriously private star.

The archive includes a 1951 postcard Hepburn sent from the set of Monte Carlo Baby, her first big film, in which she wrote: 'Would you believe it, I'm in Monte Carlo working on a French Picture * this place is heavenly.'
