　　时间状语

　　We use adverbials of time to say:

　　我们用时间状语描述：

　　when something happened:

　　某事发生：

　　I saw¹ Mary yesterday.

　　She was² born³ in 1978.

　　I will see you later⁴.

　　There was a storm⁵ during⁶ the night.

　　for how long :

　　时间长短：

　　We waited all day.

　　They have lived here since⁷ 2004.

　　We will be on holiday from July 1st until⁸ August 3rd.

　　how often (frequency):

　　频率大小：

　　They usually watched television⁹ in the evening.

　　We sometimes went to work by car.

　　We often use a noun phrase as a time adverbial:

 

1 saw   

vbl.看见(see的过去式)；n.锯；v.用锯子锯

参考例句：

• Would you like to saw a tree for me?你能为我锯棵树吗？
• The moment I saw you,I knew you were angry with me.我一看到你，就知道你在生我的气。

2 was   

v.(is,am的过去式)是，在

参考例句：

• He said he was right.他说他是正确的。
• He was cold and hungry.他又冷又饿。

3 born   

v.动词bear的过去分词；adj.出生的，与生俱来的

参考例句：

• The baby can cry as soon as he is born.婴儿生下来就会哭。
• I feel as if I had been born again.我有一种再生之感。

4 later   

adv.过后，后来；adj.以后的，更后的，较晚的

参考例句：

• He didn't turn up until half an hour later.半小时后他才出现。
• This part of the hospital was built on later.医院的这个部分是后来增建的。

5 storm   

n.暴风雨；vi.起风暴，强攻；vt.猛攻，捣毁

参考例句：

• The storm lasted three days.暴风雨持续了三天。
• This is the place where the storm hit.这就是暴风雨袭击的地方。

6 during   

prep.在…期间，在…时候

参考例句：

• What did you do with yourself during the summer holidays?暑假你是怎样度过的？
• London is full of visitors during May and June.五六月间伦敦挤满了游客。

7 since   

adv.后来；conj.既然，因为，自从；prep.自从

参考例句：

• He's been working in a bank since leaving school.自从毕业后，他就一直在一家银行工作。
• I have known him ever since I was a child.我自孩提时代起就已经认识他了。

8 until   

prep.直到...为止；conj.直到...时才...

参考例句：

• He arrived home until midnight.他直到半夜才到家。
• She didn't sleep until midnight.她直到半夜才睡。

9 television   

n.电视(机) [=TV]

参考例句：

• Do you often watch television?你经常看电视吗？
• Please turn off the television.请把电视关上。
