Part I
Does your name have any special meaning?
Yes, it does. I don't know how to interpret my last name, but I know that my first name, Peng, is significant. In china, names of children often express wishes or hopes for the child. My grandparents wanted me to have a boundless future and a very successful life. My father wanted to honor my grandparents and their wishes, so he gave me the name that my grandparents had chosen. His selection of my name also expresses his true love for me, which I will always value.
If you were married, how many children would you choose to have?
In china, except in very unusual circumstance, married couples are limited to having only one child. This is because of the large population of China and a policy to keep the population of the country under control. Thus, I am limited to having one child. However, to be honest, if I could, I would have two children: a boy and a girl. I think there is something very nice about brother and sister relationships in a family, for both te parents and the children.
Who is the breadwinner in your family?
In my family, the breadwinner is te father. Traditionally, the male in the household has earned the income and responsiblity for supporting the family. However, that has changed in recent year. In my case, both my mother and father work, and so they are equal financial contributors to the family. Both of them have jobs in which they work hard in order to pay for all of our living expenses.
