A new technology that changes people’s lives. Patients who need a stomach exam no longer need to swallow the scary gastroscope and suffer from the pain. Instead, they can swallow a remote-controlled capsule with a camera to let doctors diagnose stomach problems.
"Our technology is in a leading position, and we are the first company in the world to commercialize it. It reduces the pain and chances of getting infections. I hope to promote it to both the public and potential customers at this show." Ankon Technologies president Joe Xiao said.
As the country’s biggest platform for trading technologies, the second China International Technology Fair in Shanghai has attracted over 900 Chinese and foreign companies, which are keen to look for opportunities.
"Even though we are in the age of the Internet, the fair gives me the chance to see the technologies up close, talk to people face-to-face, and have a more direct experience." Yang Han, investment dept. chief of Foreign Investment Service Center, said.
China’ demand for technology keeps growing due to industrial upgrading. In this technology fair, companies do not only showcase their products, but also their ideas and concepts.
Moving fish on the screen with just a wave of the hand, this may look lie a video game, but it is not.
"This demonstrates the idea of how a center can control a large group of users more effectively by giving them artificial intelligence and making decisions themselves rather than giving them orders. It can be applied1 to traffic control or big data analysis. Many Internet companies have approached us today." Zhou Xiang, tech lead of Omron in China, said.
According to the Shanghai Commission of Commerce, the trade of technology in China has jumped 25 times from 1978, to 93.1 billion US dollars in 2013. And the fair will hopefully help the country to speed up its move from low-cost manufacturer to innovator2.
