 Let’s take a look at the satellite image. A trough is triggering heavy rain and clearing thunderstorms over Western Australia and southern parts of South Australia. A cold front is producing showers and strong gale¹ force winds over the southeast of the country and bringing snow down to 600 meters in Tasmania. Relatively² warm winds are filtering over the east.

Looking around the country, some light isolated³ showers on the north tropical coast of Queensland, warm in the west and mostly sunny elsewhere in the state. A cold morning in New South Wales before a mostly sunny day. Cold in the south with some light showers. Early snow to 1000 meters on the alps. Cold in Victoria with wind and showers easing in the south. Light snow to about 900 meters. Generally dry in the north. Windy in Tasmania with showers and small amounts of hail, mainly in the west.
