Former prime minister Malcolm Turnbull has made an extraordinary claim that the reason he was ousted¹ was because he would have won the next election. In a BBC interview, Mr Turnbull says despite trailing Labor² in almost 40 newspolls in a row, his government was still in a competitive winnable position and this he says is what his party really feared.
