The first high-speed rail line to a border city in northeast China is set to open in Jilin Province on Sunday.
The new line is to link Jilin City with Hunchun, which is at the borders of North Korea and Russia.
Local residents have come to the railway station ahead of the opening of the new line.
"I've been living in Hunchun for more than 70 years. I've never been to any big cities like Shanghai, Tianjin and Beijing. Now that we have high-speed rail here, I want to go to those places and have a look," said a resident.
The new line spans 360 kilometers and will cover nine stations.
It's designed to allow for speeds of up to 250 kilometers per hour, though the initial operational speed will be 200 kilometers per hour.
