We have every reason¹ to refuse.我们完全有理由拒绝。

Can you tell me the reason why you were late this morning.你能告诉我今早为什么迟到。

reason是理由和原因的意思。再来一个例子：

We have reason to believe² that he was³ lying⁴.我们有理由相信他是在撒谎。

reason也可表示道理，情理。

Why didn't you listen to reason?你为什么不愿听从道理?

reason也可做动词，表示讲理，和某人讲理就用介词with.

There is no use reasoning⁵ with him.和他讲理根本没用。

1 reason   

n.原因，理由，理智，道理；v.劝说，推理

参考例句：

• That is the reason why we must go now.那就是我们现在必须走的理由。
• The reason for the flood was that heavy rain.水灾是那场大雨造成的。

2 believe   

v.相信；认为

参考例句：

v.(is,am的过去式)是，在

参考例句：

• He said he was right.他说他是正确的。
• He was cold and hungry.他又冷又饿。

4 lying

参考例句：

• He was correct in his assertion that the minister had been lying. 他认定部长说谎，事实果然如此。
• She bridled at the suggestion that she was lying. 她对暗示她在说谎的言论嗤之以鼻。

5 reasoning   

n.推理，论证；运用思考、理解、推想等能力的做法或过程；论究，论断v.推理，思考；争辩；说服adj.推理的；有关推理的
