　　The new generation of Tory MPs will not cause The Prime Minister much grief. 新一届保守党议员并不会让首相松口气

　　With the Conservatives far ahead in the polls, Theresa May's parliamentary party is likely to swell¹ after the election. 由于保守党在民意调查中处于绝对领先地位，特蕾莎梅所在议会规模很可能在选举之后进一步壮大。

　　As well as winning seats from Labour, the Tories will need to replace a handful of their own MPs who are stepping down, such as George Osborne, a former chancellor². 除了从工党中赢得的席位，托利党还要填补一些因为像前财政大臣奥斯本等人辞职而增加的席位空缺。

　　If the polls pan out, around 100 new Conservative MPs might soon be taking the oath of allegiance to the Crown. 如果投票结果真是预料中的这样，那么就会有约100名新保守党议员加入执政党大军。

　　Mrs May hopes that this will provide her with a cushion of moderate MPs to dilute³ the influence of the three-dozen or so ultra-Brexiteers on her backbenches,  特蕾莎女士希望这样的局面会冲淡其党内极端脱欧分子的影响，

　　It is partly a question of which seats are up for grabs. 其实，这可以看作一个争取席位的问题。

　　In the 100 constituencies where the Conservatives need the smallest swing in order to win, support for Brexit is similar to that in the country as a whole. 在100个选区中，保守党需要最少的摇摆选民才能稳操胜券，整体看来这与支持英国脱欧的情况如出一辙。

　　Around a third of them delivered majorities for Remain. 大约有三分之一选区的多数得票是在留欧一方。
