Rescuers used a crane to hoist¹ the fuselage of a wrecked³ Trans Asia Airways⁴ plane from a shallow river in Taiwan’s capital late Wednesday as they searched into the night for 17 people missing in a crash that at least killed 26 others.

Federal investigators⁵ are at the site of a deadly commuter⁶ train crash in New York, looking for clues to how the train was functioning and why the SUV that was crashed in the wreck² was stopped on the tracks during rush hour Tuesday evening.

President Barack Obama is repeating his threat to veto a bill passed by the House that would overturn the executive actions limiting deportations for millions in the US illegally and giving them the ability to work. Obama spoke⁸ in the oval office meeting with six young immigrants who would be subject to eventual⁹ deportation⁷ under the bill.

The Super Bowl champion New England Patriots¹⁰ have been making their way through a snowy streets of Boston. Sunday’s 28-24 victory of the Seattle Seahawks was Patriots’ fourth NFL title.
