A volcano erupted on Hawaii's Big Island, sending lava¹ shooting through the air in a residential² neighbourhood. Hundreds of people were told to evacuate³ the area.

President Trump⁴ is said to deliver an address to the National Rifle Association in Dallas on Friday. Just two months ago, he promised to stand up to the NRA following the Parkland, Florida school shooting.

Missouri state legislators are convening⁵ a special session to consider impeaching⁶ Governor Eric Greitens. He's facing allegations of sexual misconduct and misusing⁷ charity funds for his political campaign.

And schools are open in Arizona on Friday. So hundreds of thousands of children can go back to class. Teachers ended a walkout when the state legislature passed an education funding deal.
