木偶奇遇记 第70期:仙女姐姐去世(2)

 　　As he sobbed¹ he said to himself: "Oh, my Fairy, my dear, dear Fairy, why did you die?

　　他一边抽泣一边对自己说：“噢，我的仙女，我的亲爱的，亲爱的仙女，你怎么死了？

　　Why did I not die, who am so bad, instead of you, who are so good?

　　为什么死的不是我，我是这么坏，而你，是那么好！

　　And my father--where can he be? Please dear Fairy, tell me where he is and I shall never, never leave him again! You are not really dead, are you?

　　我的爸爸，他在哪儿啊！我的好仙女，请你告诉我他在哪儿？我要永远永远都不会再离开他了！你不是真的死了，是吗？

　　If you love me, you will come back, alive as before. Don't you feel sorry for me? I'm so lonely.

　　如果你真的爱我，就回来吧，活过来跟当初一样。看见我孤零零一个，你不觉得难过吗？

　　If the two Assassins come, they'll hang me again from the giant oak tree and I will really die, this time.

　　要是那两个强盗来了，重新把我吊在大橡树上，那么这回我就真死定了。

　　What shall I do alone in the world? Now that you are dead and my father is lost, where shall I eat?

　　我孤零零地在这个世界上怎么办呢？现在你死了，我爸爸也不见了，我能在哪儿吃上饭？

　　Where shall I sleep? Who will make my new clothes? Oh, I want to die! Yes, I want to die! Oh, oh, oh!"

　　我去哪里睡觉呢？谁给我做新衣服呢，噢！我真想去死！是的，我还不如死掉好！噢！噢！噢！”

　　Poor Pinocchio! He even tried to tear his hair, but as it was only painted on his wooden head, he could not even pull it.

　　可怜的皮诺乔！他甚至试着去扯头发，可他的头发是画在木头脑袋上的，他无法拔动它。

　　Just then a large Pigeon flew far above him.

　　这时候一只大鸽子在他头顶的高空飞过。

　　Seeing the Marionette², he cried to him: "Tell me, little boy, what are you doing there?"

　　"Can't you see? I'm crying," said Pinocchio, lifting his head toward the voice and rubbing his eyes with his sleeve.

　　"Tell me," asked the Pigeon, "do you by chance know of a Marionette, Pinocchio by name?"

　　“告诉我，”鸽子问，“你知道有一个木偶叫皮诺乔的吗？”

　　"Pinocchio! Did you say Pinocchio?" replied the Marionette, jumping to his feet. "Why, I am Pinocchio!"

　　“皮诺乔？你说皮诺乔？”木偶再说一遍，跳了起来。“为什么这么问？我就是皮诺乔！”

　　At this answer, the Pigeon flew swiftly down to the earth.

　　鸽子听了这回答，很快地飞下来落到了地上。

　　He was much larger than a turkey. "Then you know Geppetto also?"

　　它比一只火鸡还大上许多。“那你也认识杰佩托了？”

　　"Do I know him? He's my father, my poor, dear father! Has he, perhaps, spoken to you of me?

　　“问我认识他么？他是我爸爸，我可怜的，亲爱的爸爸！也许他跟你提起过我了？

　　Will you take me to him? Is he still alive? Answer me, please! Is he still alive?"

　　你带我上他那儿去好吗？他还活着么？摆脱你告诉我！他还活着么？”
