　　A:Wang, if you don't mind my asking. Where were you born?

　　A：王，你不介意我问一下你的出生地吧？

　　B:I was born and grow up in Beijing.

　　B：我出生在北京，并且在那里长大的。

　　A:You are a native of Beijing and where are your family from?

　　A：你是北京人，你的籍贯是哪里？

　　B:You mean, where are my ancestors from? They are from Jiangxi. Which country are you from?

　　B：你是想问我的祖籍是哪里？我祖辈来自江西。你是哪国人？

　　A:I am from the United States.

　　A：我是美国人。

　　B:Where in the America are you from?

　　B：你是美国哪里的？

　　A:I'm from Texas. That's in the south.

　　A：是得克萨斯州，在美国南方。

　　B:Yes, I've heard of it.

　　B：哦，我听说过那里。

　　A:Have you really?

　　A：真的吗？

　　B:Sure, ifs former President George W Bush's hometown, Midland, Texas. It's quite famous.The Bush family moved to Midland in the 1950s to take advantage of one of the town's oil booms¹.The Bush family left Midland for Houston in 1959. but George W. Bush moved back to the city in the mid-1970s to get his start in the booming² oil town.

　　B：当然，得州米德兰是美国前总统小布什的老家，很有名的。布什一家50年代趁着当地石油工业繁荣的势头举家搬迁到米德兰，在1959年又迁居到休斯敦。但是小布什又在70年代中期返回了米德兰，在这个繁荣的石油城开始了他的事业。

　　A:You are an expert in this field.

　　A：你真是这个领域的专家哦。

　　B:You are flattering³ me. Can you speak Chinese?

　　B：不敢当。你会说中文？

　　A:Yes, I have been learning Chinese for three years. But I can speak only a little.

　　A：是的，我学过三年中文，但我只会说一点儿。

　　A:How often cto you visit your hometown?

　　A：你多久回老家一次？

　　B:Once or twice a year.

　　B：每年一两次。

　　A:Does your family still live there?

　　A：你的家人还住在那里吗？

　　B:Yes.all my immediate⁴ family live there.

　　B：是的，我的直系亲属都住在那里。

　　A:You must be really lonely here then.

　　A：那么你在这里一定很孤独吧。

　　B:You can say that again. But I came here with big dreams.

　　B：你说是没错。但我是带着梦想来的。

　　A:May you succeed!

　　A：祝你成功！

4 immediate
