　　D:Mom, this year's summer wear is already out on the market,Why don't we go out for shopping?

　　女儿：妈妈，今年的夏装已经上市了。为什么我们不去选购呢？

　　M:That's all you have on your mind, shopping for new clothes. What I am thinking is to give our home decor a changeover.

　　妈妈：你就只知道购物买新衣服。我想的是把我们家粉刷或者改变一下。

　　D:Oh! There goes my perfect vacation.

　　女儿：噢！这就是我惬意的假期。

　　M:Look here, decorating your room is like making up yourself. It's going to be pretty interesting. I believe that today you're going to have a great sense of accomplishment¹.

　　妈妈：看这儿，粉刷你的房间就好比给你自己化装一样，会很有趣的。我想今天你肯定会有很大的成就感。

　　D:Oh, alright, I'll just have to treat the wall as my canvas². I'm thinking of painting the wall of the living room pale blue, the dinning³ room red, and my room pale green.

　　女儿：哦，好吧。我就把这墙当作我的画布吧。我打算把客厅刷成淡蓝色，饭厅刷成红色，我的房间刷成淡绿色。

　　M:You're sure that you want to be in charge of painting the walls? That can be pretty exhausting.

　　妈妈：你确定你负责刷墙？那是很累人的活。

　　D:Of course. I'll be asking my dear brother for help. Surely you don't think I was going to leave him out?

　　女儿：是的。我会让亲爱的哥哥来帮我的。你不会认为我会把他排除在外吧？

　　M:That's exactly what I have in mind.

　　妈妈：那也正是我所希望的。
