　　A:I still don't understand why you had to see your grandfather on Sunday evening.

　　A：我还是搞不懂你为什么要在星期日晚上去看望你的爷爷。

　　B:Well, it was a family thing. I'd completely² forgotten about the concert. Anyway, my grandfather would have been upset if I hadn't gone.

　　B：喔，这是件家事。我完全把音乐会这事给忘了。无论如何，如果我没去看望爷爷的话，他肯定会很难过的。

　　A:He wouldn't have been surely³. He would understand. You could have totd him you had tickets for a concert.

　　A：他未必会那样。他会理解的。你本应该告诉他你要去听音乐会的。

　　B:I said I forgot! If you'd phoned me on Friday night, I wouldn't have forgotten.

　　B：我说过我忘了。如果你在星期五晚上给我打电话的话，我就不会忘记了。

　　A:But you know I go training every Friday night.

　　A：但是你知道每周五晚上我要去训练的。

　　B:I'm sorry...but it's just that I wish you wouldn't take me so much for granted⁴.

　　B：对不起...我只不过希望你别认为我对什么都无所谓。

　　A:But we always go out on Sunday evenings.

　　A：但是我们总是在星期日晚出去。

　　B:That's just it! Oh,sometimes I wish I'd never started going out with you. You act as if you own me.

　　B：那就是问题所在！噢。有时我真希望我从没跟你一块出去过。你表现得好像是我的主人。

1 regret   

n.遗憾，后悔，抱歉；v.为...感到遗憾，后悔，惋惜

参考例句：

• Don't rush into marriage,you might regret it later.不要匆匆忙忙结婚，不然你以后也许要后悔的。
• I regret that I shall not be able to come.很遗憾，我不能来。

2 completely   

adv.完全地，十分地，全然

参考例句：

• She never completely gave up hope.她从不完全放弃希望。
• I feel completely in the dark on this question.这件事使我感到茫然。

3 surely   

adv.确实地，无疑地；必定地，一定地

参考例句：

• It'should surely be possible for them to reach an agreement.想必他们可以达成协议。
• Surely we'll profit from your work.我们肯定会从你的工作中得到益处。

4 granted   

conj.假定，就算v.（退一步）承认( grant的过去式和过去分词 )；（尤指正式地或法律上）同意；准许；让渡
