　　Where can we find an oasis²? In a desert. 我们在哪儿能找到绿洲？在沙漠里。

　　An oasis is a fountain or spring in a desert. 绿洲是沙漠中的喷泉。

　　In desert areas, oases are the most important places. 在沙漠地区，绿洲是最重要的地方。

　　Deserts are very difficult places to live in. 沙漠很难居住。

　　You cannot grow crops because there is little water. 你不能种庄稼，因为没水。

　　You cannot raise domestic animals either, because the weather is too hot. 你也不能养家畜，因为天气太热了。

　　But around oases, there are some plants. 但在绿洲周围有一些植物。

　　Some wild animals live around oases, too. 一些野生动物也生活在绿洲附近。

　　Because there are trees, oases are usually less hot than other desert areas. 因为这里有树，所以绿洲通常比沙漠的其他地区凉些儿。
