More than a hundred people were killed, and 800 injured. It's a stark¹ reminder² of the deadly power of China's earthquakes. In 2008, up to 90,000 people were killed in Sichuan Province. Amongst those affected³ was Liao Zhi, a 28-year-old dancer who lost her baby daughter and mother-in-law when their building collapsed⁴. She also had to have both her legs amputated after spending over 20 hours trapped in the rubble⁵.
