Last time we learned¹ "So, tell me(something).". 意思是：来吧，说说看。If we want to express "说说看这是怎么回事。". Then how should we put it. Alright, let's get the answer from the following dialogue.

A : I went on a date with Alan last night. B : Alan is handsome. Tell me what happened.

【答疑解惑】

It is "Tell me what happened.". This is a way of saying "I want to know something.". It means that the speaker want to know about some event. There is another sentence whose meaning is similar to it. That is "Tell me what that is about."【即学即用】

Please translate the sentences into English. 1 您能说说这是怎么回事吗？

2 那跟我说说发生了什么事情？你去哪去了？

1 You want to tell me what happened here? 2 Then tell me what that is about? Where did you go?

1 go on a date 去约会 For example: Other people go on a date.有的人则赴约会。 go on a date with 去和某人幽会 For example: I could go on a date with you to go to see a movie like normal people我们可以像普通人一样约会和看电影. 我们说到去约会，how should we put "有个约会"？Let's look at the sentence: He isn't coming, having a hot date with Lucy. 他不来了，因为他有个朝思暮想的约会。So ，it's : have a date (with somebody). A hot date means an exciting date.意思是：朝思幕想的约会。

As for date, we have another phrase which is "go out of date". 意思是过时。For example:A lot of new words go out of date very quickly.不少新词很快就不通用了。 And another idiom which is "blind date"that means a meeting between two people who haven't meet each other before. 是指男女间的初次会面。And sometimes the meeting is arranged by their friend because they want them to develop their relationship. 有时也指有第三方安排的男女间的初次会面。For example: A friend convinces³ me to go on a blind date with a lady of his.我的一个朋友劝说我和他的一个女朋友进行约会。Here is phrase:go on a blind date with 和某人初次约会。We met on a blind date.我们是经介绍认识的。 Here is phrase: on a blind date 意思是：相亲，通过介绍。A newspaper pal⁴ got him a blind date, choosing Alice because she was the only girl reporter shorter than he.一报社朋友给他介绍对象,选中的阿莉斯,因为她是惟一个子比他矮的女记者。Here's a phrase: get somebody a blind date 意思是：给某人介绍对象。In a word, date here refers to a romantic meeting. It means a meeting that you arranged with a boyfriend or a girl friend or with somebody who might become your boyfriend or girlfriend. 总而言之，date在这句话中指的是男女间的浪漫的约会，幽会。

【Key Words and Phrases 】handsome我们都知道是指男性英俊潇洒，有魅力。It means good-looking. 而指的是女性是beautiful, pretty 等。For example: He was aptly described as "tall dark and handsome".他被恰如其分的描述为高大黝黑，相貌堂堂。但是在这句话中，指的却是女性。If it's used to describe female⁵. It means attractive with large strong feature rather than small delicate⁶ one. 意思是：健美的。

【Sentence pattens】S+tell me + N(宾语从句) 意思是：说说......。顺便啰嗦一句：me 是间接宾语，名词和宾语从句指直接宾语。
