Arabian Wisdom
The heart is the noblest member of the body. A wise man said that the worst of men is he who allows an evil1 desire to take root in his heart; for he shall lose his manhood. A poet said:
The wise will keep
His treasure hid apart;
True gold is hidden in the heart,
A miner2 never had to dig so deep.
Deal with people according to their deeds and not according to their words. Yet deeds are not worth the intentions which inspire them; so that each man shall be judged according to his intentions and not according to his deeds.
Lukman the Wise said to his sons:”There are three things which are possible only under three conditions: you may not know if a man be really good until you have seen him in his anger;you may not know if a man be brave until you have seen him in battles; you may not know if a man be a friend until you have come to him in necessity3.”
珍宝分开埋;
