celebrate ?v. 庆祝；庆贺；颂扬
It's your birthday tomorrow, so we must celebrate.

Appreciate：
① 欣赏，赞赏
I appreciate his generosity¹. 我赞赏他的慷慨大方。
② 理解。体会
I appreciate the difficulty. 我理解这种困难。
③ 感谢，感激，注意其后只能接“事”作宾语，而不能接“人”作宾语
例如：谢谢你的好意。
正：I appreciate your kindness.
误：I appreciate you for your kindness.
句型：I would appreciate it if… 如果...我会很感激，注意一定要在if前加一个it。
We would appreciate it if you would arrange for immediate² payment.

④ Appreciate表示“增值”的意思也一定要学会哦：

Excuse用作名词的还可以表示“理由”,“借口”，歌词中的good excuse是好借口的意思，不好的借口我们可以说lame⁴ excuse，就是理由不足的辩解或漏洞百出的借口。
