He is urging his people to get vaccinated¹ and not be swayed by any rumors² about the vaccines³. India's Health Ministry⁴ recorded 350,000 new coronavirus cases on Sunday. No single country has dealt with as many infections in one day during the nearly 14 months global pandemic, not even the U.S. or Brazil. India sets a 24-hour record high for the fourth straight day and public health officials warned the figures are likely undercounted. U.S. President Joe Biden was among United States officials pledging help on Sunday. Britain, France and Germany also say they will send aid as well India's archfoe Pakistan.

Iraq's Interior Ministry says a fire sparked by an oxygen tank explosion killed at least 82 people and injured 110 at a COVID-19 hospital in Baghdad. Relatives of patients scrambled⁵ Sunday during the blaze to save their loved ones. Medical officials say patients have been moved to other hospitals. But several families were still searching the burned hospital hours after the fire was out after failing to find them elsewhere.
