State Transport Minister David Campbell has quitted his portfolio¹ after being caught on tape visiting a gay sex club. Channel Seven last night broadcast footage of David Campbell visiting Sydney sauna Ken's at Kensington on Tuesday. And in a statement, Mr. Campbell apologized to his wife, his children,colleagues and the community.

 

The Thai government, the United States (I'm sorry) has warned that North Korea faces consequences for sinking a South Korean warship² which killed 46 sailors. US State Department spokesman P.J Crowley says it was an unprovoked and unwarranted act. North Korea has denied the allegation and has threatened military action.

 

The Thai government says it's restored order to the streets of Bangkok after almost two weeks of deadly violence. Night curfews remain in place. And hundreds of displaced Red Shirts, mainly from regional Thailand, are now crowded into Bangkok's central police station.

 

Victorian police had shot a man in the chest when he tried to hijack³ a bus at knifepoint in Melbourne’s northwest. The 21-year-old man was shot when police were unable to subdue⁴ him with capsicum spray. He's undergone surgery for non-life threatening injuries.

 

And police are searching for three leaders from the Agape religious cult⁵ after a huge weapons cache was found at the group's Adelaide headquarters.
