The Greens are officially taking over the balance of power in the Senate today. The Governor-General Quentin Bryce has been swearing in the new Senators in Canberra this morning. A 14-year-old boy has been charged with manslaughter over the stabbing death of a woman in Melbourne’s north last night. And Novak Djokovic is now the sports number one ranked player in tennis after claiming his first Wimbledon title. The Serb beat defending champ Rafael Nadal 6:4, 6:1, 1:6, 6:3 in just less than two and a half hours, though he did lose one set. It’s Djokovic’s second major win this year. He’s now played 49 singles matches this year for just one defeat.
