 King Bhumibol Adulyadej was the much loved and respected king of Thailand. He was the longest-serving monarch¹ in Thai history.  普密蓬·阿杜德——拉玛九世皇是很受泰国人爱戴和尊敬的皇帝，他是泰国历史上在位时间最长的君王。

He was born in the United States in 1927 and was educated in Switzerland.  阿杜德于1927年出生在美国，在瑞士接受教育。

He was an excellent musician, artist, and sailor.  他是出色的音乐家、艺术家和海员。

His popularity helped him maintain peace in his country many times. Many Thais see him as semi-divine. 他的声望多次帮他维持国内和平，许多泰国人视他为半神。

Bhumibol came to Thailand for the first time in 1928.  1928年，阿杜德第一次回到了泰国。

He completed his elementary education in Bangkok and in 1933 moved to Switzerland.  他在曼谷完成了基础教育后，于1933年搬到了瑞士。

He graduated from the University of Lausanne.  他毕业于瑞士洛桑大学。
