 1.关于职业选择
Western¹ parents, "you can be anything when you grow up, and you can count on whatever² you become, we will be proud³ of you."
西方父母，“你长大之后可以成为任何人，并且，不管你成为什么样的人，我们都无条件爱你。”
Asian⁴ parents: "You can be an engineer,a doctor,a lawyer,a teacher, oh if you want a risky⁵ fun job, try dentist"

2.关于恋爱
Western parents: "Oh, you think you're in love? Honey⁶, I'm so happy for you. What's she like? Is she cute?"
西方父母，哦你恋爱了吗？亲爱的，我真为你开心。她是个什么样的人呢？可爱吗？
Asian parents: "You think you're in love? You are too young to understand what love is. All you need to do now is to stay in school, study hard, get a good job, and then marry⁷ someone⁸."
亚洲父母，你恋爱了？你这么年轻懂什么爱不爱的！你现在要做的就是好好上学，努力学习，找个好工作，嫁个人家！

3.关于亲情
Western parents: "Your father and I just wanted you to know that we love you so much. No reason⁹. We just wanted to let you know."
西方父母，我和你爸就是想让你知道，我们很爱你。没什么，就是想要你知道。
Asian parents: "I'm doing this for your own¹⁰ good."
亚洲父母，我这么做还不都是为了你好！

4.关心
Call me when you get there, just so I know you're okay¹¹.
到了打电话，让我知道你没事儿。
Take care¹² of yourself¹³ when you're not at home.
在外面好好照顾自己。
It's not about good or bad. It's just differences¹⁴. And we know that all parents are trying hard to provide¹⁵ anything we really want and really take care of us.
两种教育方式无关好坏，只是不同而已。我们知道所有的父母都会倾其所有给我们我们想要的东西，并且无微不至地关心我们。
