A white lie is a lie that you tell someone that is good or nice about that person but in reality is actually a lie.

white lie就是你对人说的一些好听的话，但事实上是假话。

lead someone on 诱导，欺骗某人，让对方以为自己喜欢他／她

Leading someone on usually means that you are pretending to be interested in someone that is interested in you in order to gain something from them.

Leading someone on 通常表示你知道某人对你有兴趣，于是你假装对他有兴趣，为了想要从他／她身上获得一些东西。

I think she is leading me on. She always texts back but never wants to go out when I ask.

我觉得她在玩弄我，每次她发消息我都会回，但是每次我约她出来她都不愿意。
