　　Anna negotiated¹ a deal with a client² in France but now they claim they've been ripped³ off!

　　安娜与法国客户协商了一份合同，但是现在他们称自己被剥削了！

　　This has got to get sorted – quickly.

　　这件事要快点解决。

　　Oh Denise, what exactly did they say?

　　丹尼斯，他们具体说什么了？

　　Something about them agreeing a price for 5,000 lemons and then being offered a better price by another company.

　　他们同意了5000个柠檬的价格，然而其他公司给的价格更好。

　　That'll be Tutti Fruity – they want our business.

　　那肯定是Tutti Fruity，他们想抢我们的生意。

　　Sounds like they're going to get it, unless you sort it out.

　　听起来他们要得手了，除非你能解决。

　　Maybe you should work out some new figures.

　　也许你应该计算出新的数目。

　　Figures? Is there something wrong with my figure – am I too fat?

　　身材？我的身材怎么了，我太胖了吗？

　　No Anna!

　　Your numbers – work out a new price, see if you can squeeze⁴ the price of lemons – maybe you can price Tutti Fruity out of the market.

　　你的数目，算出新的价位，看看是否能从柠檬中削减出价格，也许你就能以价格把Tutti Fruity赶出市场了。

　　Hmm, somebody else has said that.

　　有人也这么说过。

　　Yes it was me Anna!

　　是的，是我，安娜！

　　Do your calculations⁵, see if you can offer a better deal and price Tutti Fruity out of the market.

　　算算吧，看看是否你能提供更好的协议，用价格把Tutti Fruity赶出市场。

　　OK.I could sell them cheaper but there would be less profit.

　　好吧。我可以卖的价格低点，但是利润就少了。

1 negotiated   

谈判，协商，议定( negotiate的过去式和过去分词 )； 兑现（支票等）； 通过，越过（险要路段）

2 client   

n.委托人，当事人，顾客

参考例句：

• She can't come to the telephone;she's serving a client.她不能来接电话，她正在接待一位顾客。
• The lawyer produced a clever defence of his client.律师机智地为委托人辩护。

3 ripped   

adj. <美俚>喝醉的，受毒品麻醉的 动词rip的过去式和过去分词

参考例句：

• He had ripped up the carpet, leaving only the bare boards. 他用力扯去了地毯，只剩下裸露的地板。
• I ripped my jeans on the fence. 我的牛仔裤在栅栏上划破了。

4 squeeze   

vt.硬塞，硬挤；挤压；n.榨；经济困难；拮据

参考例句：

• This machine helps you to squeeze more juice out.这台机器能挤出更多的果汁。
• It was a tight squeeze in the crowded bus.公共汽车上载客太多，挤得很。

5 calculations   

n.计算( calculation的名词复数 )；盘算；自私的打算；推断

参考例句：

• We can exclude the possibility of total loss from our calculations. 我们可以在预测中把彻底失败的可能性排除在外。 来自《简明英汉词典》
• He scored out both calculations and did them again. 他把两个计算结果都划掉，又把它们计算了一遍。 来自《简明英汉词典》
