 A prominent Liberal senator has taken a swipe at Malcolm Turnbull over his outburst to Conservative columnist¹ Andrew Bolt. The Communications Minister has described Mr. Bolt's claims that he wants the ladyship back as demented. Senator Cory Bernardi says Mr. Turnbull's attack was inappropriate and unwise.

Rolf Harris has been accused of lying in a sexual abuse trial in London. The jury has been shown on video of the Australian Entertainer, taking part in a celebrity² show in Cambridge in 1978. One of his alleged³ victims claimed he was assaulted by Harris in Cambridge in the 1970s. But the 84-year-old has earlier told the court he first visited that city 4 years ago.

 

 

In the United States, the Obama Administration has unveiled an ambitious new plan to cut carbon emissions⁴. It's proposing to cut emissions from house stations by up to 30% by the year 2030.

 

 

And police are searching for a 4-year-old boy who was taken from a childcare center in northern New South Wales. The boy hasn't been seen since he was picked up by his father Alexandra Bonjono about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Police say they are concerned for the boy's welfare.
