Justin Milne has resigned as chairman of the ABC. It comes after two days of intense pressure over his position and concerns about political pressure and interference. Mr Milne says his decision is not an admission he failed to protect the interests of the national broadcaster and he says he has never sent an email to former managing director Michelle Guthrie asking her to sack senior journalist Emma Alberici. The ABC board is meeting now to decide who will be the acting¹ chairman.

Mr Kavanaugh rejects the allegations.

The Bellingcat group claims the man who was named as Ruslan Boshirov is actually Colonel Anatoliy Chepiga. Earlier this month, UK investigators⁸ identified Mr Boshirov as a Russian intelligence officer.
