Police say a number of inmates¹ have surrendered, with a tense standoff continuing at a juvenile² detention³ centre on the New South Wales central coast. The violent riot at the Frank Baxter Centre at Kariong, is reported to have started just before nine last night. Two youths have been taken to Sydney’s Royal North Shore hospital in a serious condition, while four others are in Gosford Hospital.
