Boris Johnson will be Britain's next prime minister after winning the race to be the new Conservative leader. The former mayor of London beat rival Jeremy Hunt with 66 per cent of the vote in a ballot¹ of party members, with the result announced at a party meeting in London. Mr Johnson is inheriting a political crisis from Theresa May but has promised to deliver on three priorities.

Canadian police say two missing teenagers are now suspects in the murders of an Australian and his American girlfriend in British Columbia. Police say Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky are also suspects in the case of another man found dead nearby in the north of the state. Twenty-three-year-old Lucas Fowler and 24-year-old Chynna Deese were shot dead last week on the Alaska Highway. Police say the two suspects have been spotted² in the state of Saskatchewan.

This comes after Calombaris admitted to underpaying employees at his restaurants by nearly eight million dollars.
